This rapid change provides a rare opportunity to investigate the phenotypic outcomes that result from the expression of human genetic<br \/>\npredispositions in a new environment. Unfortunately, the<br \/>\nenvironmental changes that have occurred are associated<br \/>\nwith epidemic obesity rates in all age groups. Using a<br \/>\ndevelopmental perspective, this article argues that this<br \/>\nprobabilistic outcome is not predetermined, however.
