{"id":34417,"date":"2013-06-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-03T23:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aprifel-pp.mentalworks.biz\/fr\/resume-scientifique\/a-qualitative-investigation-of-teachers-information-motivation\/"},"modified":"2018-12-04T00:29:12","modified_gmt":"2018-12-03T23:29:12","slug":"a-qualitative-investigation-of-teachers-information-motivation","status":"publish","type":"resume","link":"https:\/\/aprifel-pp.mentalworks.biz\/fr\/resume-scientifique\/a-qualitative-investigation-of-teachers-information-motivation\/","title":{"rendered":"A qualitative investigation of teachers&rsquo; information, motivation, and behavioral skills for increasing fruits and vegetables consumption in preschoolers."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>OBJECTIVE:<\/strong><br \/>\nUsing the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills model as a framework, researchers qualitatively assessed preschool teachers&#039; perceived motivation, facilitators, and barriers related to getting preschool children to eat fruits and vegetables (FV).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>METHODS:<\/strong><br \/>\nIndividual, semi-structured interviews with 28 Head Start teachers in central North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>RESULTS:<\/strong><br \/>\nParticipants reported the need for FV-related information (Information) to improve FV consumption in children, perceived themselves to be parents at school (Motivation), and reported using conditional rewards and punishment statements to get preschoolers to eat FV (Behavioral Skills).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS:<\/strong><br \/>\nNutrition educators may use the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills model to develop education materials targeting increases in preschoolers&#039; FV consumption.
