Si de nombreux mod\u00e8les alimentaires \u00e9mergent, le r\u00e9gime m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en est aujourd\u2019hui reconnu comme mod\u00e8le de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence en mati\u00e8re d\u2019alimentation saine et durable. Pour la premi\u00e8re fois, une \u00e9tude a analys\u00e9 et compar\u00e9 la biodiversit\u00e9 v\u00e9g\u00e9tale &#8211; esp\u00e8ces, sous-esp\u00e8ces et vari\u00e9t\u00e9s &#8211; des r\u00e9gimes m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en et occidental. Les r\u00e9sultats montrent une plus grande diversit\u00e9 de plantes comestibles dans le r\u00e9gime m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en. D\u2019apr\u00e8s ce travail, adh\u00e9rer \u00e0 un r\u00e9gime alimentaire diversifi\u00e9 permettrait de pr\u00e9server la biodiversit\u00e9 et par cons\u00e9quent, la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 nutritionnelle.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u2019ici 2050, la<strong> population mondiale<\/strong> devrait atteindre <strong>9,7 milliards de personnes<\/strong> contre 7,7 en 2019 (<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/33255721\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Serra-Majem et al., 2020<\/a> ; <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/34548645\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Adam et al., 2021<\/a>). D\u2019apr\u00e8s la <span class='tooltipsall tooltip_post_id_79592 classtoolTips79592'>FAO<\/span>, <strong>r\u00e9pondre <\/strong>aux <strong>besoins <\/strong>des <strong>consommateurs <\/strong>et <strong>satisfaire <\/strong>la <strong>demande croissante<\/strong> &#8211; notamment de viande et de produits carn\u00e9s &#8211; n\u00e9cessiterait d\u2019<strong>augmenter la production du secteur agroalimentaire de pr\u00e8s de 50%<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fao.org\/3\/i6583e\/i6583e.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span class='tooltipsall tooltip_post_id_79592 classtoolTips79592'>FAO<\/span>, 2017<\/a>). Or, il est aujourd\u2019hui bien \u00e9tabli que la <strong>surexploitation <\/strong>des terres et l\u2019<strong>agriculture intensive<\/strong> <strong>p\u00e8sent <\/strong>sur les <strong>ressources naturelles <\/strong>et constituent ainsi une <strong>v\u00e9ritable menace <\/strong>pour la <strong>biodiversit\u00e9 <\/strong>et le <strong>d\u00e9veloppement durable<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/31379419\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Crenna et al., 2019<\/a> ; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S0959378018309038\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Henry et al., 2019<\/a> ; <a href=\"https:\/\/interfel0.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/s\/APRIFEL_Revues\/EfPlDR1w-zZDig9DWMoxP8oBAoNAG1d1zn-1o8wpPUCcZw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maja et al., 2021<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Face \u00e0 ce constat, il est <strong>n\u00e9cessaire <\/strong>d\u2019<strong>aborder<\/strong> la <strong>sant\u00e9<\/strong>, la <strong>nutrition <\/strong>et l\u2019<strong>environnement <\/strong>dans une <strong>approche int\u00e9gr\u00e9e <\/strong>afin de<strong> garantir<\/strong> <strong>\u00e0 tous <\/strong>une <strong>alimentation saine et durable<\/strong>. De nombreux travaux ont notamment montr\u00e9 que l<strong>\u2019adh\u00e9sion \u00e0 des r\u00e9gimes \u00e0 base de plantes<\/strong> associ\u00e9e \u00e0 une<strong> faible consommation d\u2019aliments d\u2019origine animale<\/strong> contribuait au <strong>maintien de la sant\u00e9<\/strong> et \u00e0 la <strong>pr\u00e9servation de la biodiversit\u00e9 <\/strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/33255721\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Serra-Majem et al., 2020<\/a>). R\u00e9cemment, une \u00e9tude (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/36997093\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mattas et al., 2023<\/a><\/strong>) financ\u00e9e par le<strong> projet europ\u00e9en BioValue <\/strong>(voir encadr\u00e9) a examin\u00e9 et compar\u00e9 la <strong>diversit\u00e9 <\/strong>des <strong>plantes comestibles<\/strong> et de l\u2019<strong>alimentation <\/strong>entre les <strong>r\u00e9gimes m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en<\/strong> et <strong>occidental<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une diversit\u00e9 v\u00e9g\u00e9tale plus importante dans les pays adh\u00e9rant au r\u00e9gime m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Au total, <strong>12 pays<\/strong> ont \u00e9t\u00e9 inclus dans ce travail :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>6 pays pr\u00e9sentant une <strong>adh\u00e9sion \u00e9lev\u00e9e au r\u00e9gime m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en<\/strong> : Gr\u00e8ce, Italie, Malte, Maroc, Alg\u00e9rie, Liban ;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6 pays suivant un <strong>r\u00e9gime occidental<\/strong> : Belgique, Suisse, Allemagne, Autriche, Danemark, Su\u00e8de.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le <strong>nombre de plantes comestibles cultiv\u00e9es et sauvage<\/strong>s est ici consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un <strong>indicateur de la diversit\u00e9 v\u00e9g\u00e9tale<\/strong> des<strong> r\u00e9gimes alimentaires<\/strong>. D\u2019apr\u00e8s ce travail, les<strong> pays m\u00e9diterran\u00e9ens<\/strong> disposent d\u2019une <strong>plus grande diversit\u00e9 de plantes comestibles<\/strong> <strong>cultiv\u00e9es <\/strong>et <strong>sauvages <\/strong>que les pays suivant un r\u00e9gime occidental (voir figure 1).<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"760\" height=\"328\" src=\"https:\/\/aprifel-pp.mentalworks.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Capture-decran-2023-09-26-121643.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-95333\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Figure 1 : Nombre de plantes comestibles cultiv\u00e9es et sauvages selon les pays des groupes m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en et occidental (d\u2019apr\u00e8s Mattas et al., 2023)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Parmi les pays m\u00e9diterran\u00e9ens, l&rsquo;<strong>Italie<\/strong> poss\u00e8de l\u2019<strong>alimentation<\/strong> <strong>la plus diversifi\u00e9e<\/strong> en termes de <strong>plantes comestibles<\/strong> par rapport aux autres pays de l\u2019\u00e9chantillon. L\u2019<strong>Alg\u00e9rie<\/strong> et la <strong>Gr\u00e8ce <\/strong>affichent une <strong>diversit\u00e9 de plantes cultiv\u00e9es inf\u00e9rieure <\/strong>\u00e0 la <strong>moyenne <\/strong>des pays de ce groupe. Concernant les<strong> plantes sauvages<\/strong>, ce sont l\u2019<strong>Alg\u00e9rie<\/strong>, le <strong>Liban <\/strong>et <strong>Malte <\/strong>qui pr\u00e9sentent une <strong>diversit\u00e9 inf\u00e9rieure<\/strong> \u00e0 la <strong>moyenne<\/strong>. Au sein des pays occidentaux, la <strong>Belgique<\/strong>, le <strong>Danemark <\/strong>et la <strong>Su\u00e8de <\/strong>pr\u00e9sentent la <strong>plus faible biodiversit\u00e9 de plantes cultiv\u00e9es<\/strong>. Le <strong>Danemark <\/strong>est \u00e9galement le <strong>pays disposant de la plus faible diversit\u00e9 de plantes sauvages<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Aucune diff\u00e9rence statistique<\/strong> n\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 <strong>rapport\u00e9e <\/strong>dans les<strong> moyennes du nombre de plantes sauvages <\/strong>entre les pays m\u00e9diterran\u00e9ens et occidentaux. Cette observation sugg\u00e8re que <strong>la plus grande diversit\u00e9 de plantes comestibles<\/strong> dans les <strong>pays m\u00e9diterran\u00e9ens<\/strong> est <strong>davantage li\u00e9e<\/strong> \u00e0 l\u2019<strong>utilisation des terres<\/strong> plut\u00f4t qu\u2019\u00e0 la <strong>disponibilit\u00e9 des esp\u00e8ces v\u00e9g\u00e9tales<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L\u2019adoption d\u2019un mod\u00e8le alimentaire plus diversifi\u00e9 permettrait de pr\u00e9server les ressources v\u00e9g\u00e9tales<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bien que la <strong>biodiversit\u00e9 <\/strong>permette aux<strong> syst\u00e8mes agricoles<\/strong> d&rsquo;<strong>\u00e9voluer<\/strong>, la <strong>diversification g\u00e9n\u00e9tique<\/strong> des <strong>cultures vivri\u00e8res ne cesse de diminuer. En effet, seuls 10%<\/strong> des <strong>plantes anciennement cultiv\u00e9es<\/strong> sont encore <strong>exploit\u00e9es <\/strong>dans les syst\u00e8mes agricoles, de <strong>nombreuses vari\u00e9t\u00e9s locales<\/strong> ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 <strong>remplac\u00e9es <\/strong>par des <strong>plantes issues de la s\u00e9lection vari\u00e9tale<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/236344725_The_Atlas_of_Food\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Millstone et al., 2008<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alors que les <strong>syst\u00e8mes alimentaires actuels<\/strong> sont <strong>soumis <\/strong>\u00e0 de <strong>fortes pressions<\/strong> pour <strong>r\u00e9pondre <\/strong>aux <strong>besoins nutritionnels <\/strong>d\u2019une<strong> population croissante<\/strong>, les auteurs soulignent l\u2019<strong>importance d\u2019assurer une diversit\u00e9 de l\u2019alimentation<\/strong> au m\u00eame titre que sa <strong>quantit\u00e9<\/strong>. En effet, bien que les <strong>syst\u00e8mes actuels <\/strong>(<span class='tooltipsall tooltip_post_id_custom_61c5c87473511db4460c95812703f057 classtoolTipsCustomShortCodeOnlyForMultiTooltips'>monocultures<\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\">jQuery(\"document\").ready(function(){ toolTips('.tooltip_post_id_custom_61c5c87473511db4460c95812703f057',\"La monoculture est la culture d\\'une seule esp\u00e8ce de plantes sur une m\u00eame parcelle de terre au cours des ann\u00e9es successives.\",'0'); });<\/script>) aient permis d\u2019<strong>augmenter la production alimentair<\/strong>e et, ainsi, les<strong> apports \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques<\/strong> de la <strong>population<\/strong>, la <strong>d\u00e9pendance <\/strong>\u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9gard de certaines <strong>grandes cultures<\/strong> peut d\u00e9boucher sur une <strong>diversit\u00e9 insuffisante des r\u00e9gimes alimentaires <\/strong>et des <strong>carences en micronutriments<\/strong> chez les <strong>populations les plus fragiles<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/nutritionreviews\/article\/75\/10\/769\/4159122\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jones et al., 2017<\/a>). Les auteurs soulignent ainsi que la <strong>diversification <\/strong>de l&rsquo;<strong>alimentation <\/strong>est <strong>n\u00e9cessaire <\/strong>pour <strong>garantir une efficacit\u00e9 nutritionnelle<\/strong> aux <strong>consommateurs <\/strong>et <strong>pr\u00e9venir <\/strong>les <strong>d\u00e9ficits <\/strong>en <strong>micronutriments <\/strong>qui pourraient <strong>d\u00e9couler <\/strong>d&rsquo;un <strong>r\u00e9gime alimentaire peu diversifi\u00e9<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1002\/fsn3.2587\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nkonde et al., 2021<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Face \u00e0 la <strong>demande croissante d&rsquo;aliments sains et durables<\/strong> et \u00e0 l&rsquo;<strong>adoption du r\u00e9gime m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en<\/strong> par les <strong>nouvelles g\u00e9n\u00e9rations<\/strong> et sa <strong>diffusion <\/strong>\u00e0 d&rsquo;autres r\u00e9gions g\u00e9ographiques, il devient <strong>crucial <\/strong>de <strong>g\u00e9rer durablement <\/strong>les <strong><span class='tooltipsall tooltip_post_id_custom_2e3b0021febd7cac337cab560e287501 classtoolTipsCustomShortCodeOnlyForMultiTooltips'>ressources phytog\u00e9n\u00e9tiques<\/span><script type=\"text\/javascript\">jQuery(\"document\").ready(function(){ toolTips('.tooltip_post_id_custom_2e3b0021febd7cac337cab560e287501',\"Les ressources phytog\u00e9n\u00e9tiques pour l\u2019alimentation et l\u2019agriculture correspondent au mat\u00e9riel g\u00e9n\u00e9tique d\u2019origine v\u00e9g\u00e9tale ayant une valeur effective ou potentielle pour l\u2019alimentation et l\u2019agriculture.
