L&rsquo;Organisation mondiale de la Sant\u00e9 estime sa pr\u00e9valence \u00e0 4,3% dans le monde<\/em><sup>2<\/sup><em>. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>En Cor\u00e9e du Sud, la pr\u00e9valence de la d\u00e9pression chez les adultes est estim\u00e9e \u00e0 6,7\u00a0% en 2011 et est pass\u00e9e \u00e0 10,3\u00a0% en 2013<\/em><sup>3<\/sup><em><b>.<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Outre les causes connues de la d\u00e9pression comme les facteurs biologiques, g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques, psychologiques et environnementaux<sup>4<\/sup>, l\u2019alimentation a depuis peu attir\u00e9 l&rsquo;attention pour son r\u00f4le potentiel dans cette maladie. En effet, les \u00e9tudes ont montr\u00e9 qu\u2019<strong>une alimentation saine, comme le <a href=\"https:\/\/aprifel-pp.mentalworks.biz\/fr\/article-dossier\/quest-ce-quune-alimentation-saine\/\">r\u00e9gime m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en<\/a> (riche en fruits, l\u00e9gumes et huile d\u2019olive), r\u00e9duit les sympt\u00f4mes d\u00e9pressifs<\/strong><sup>5<\/sup>. Une \u00e9tude r\u00e9cente en Asie du Sud a montr\u00e9 qu&rsquo;<strong>une consommation inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 5 portions de fruits et l\u00e9gumes par jour augmentait le risque de d\u00e9pression<\/strong><sup>6<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00c9tude aupr\u00e8s de 4 349 adultes cor\u00e9ens<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6892133\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le but de cette \u00e9tude est d&rsquo;\u00e9tudier l&rsquo;association entre la consommation de fruits et l\u00e9gumes et la pr\u00e9valence de la d\u00e9pression<\/a> chez 4 349 adultes cor\u00e9ens<\/strong> (299 dans le groupe d\u00e9pressif et 4 050 dans le groupe non d\u00e9pressif) qui ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;enqu\u00eate nationale cor\u00e9enne sur l&rsquo;examen de la sant\u00e9 et de la nutrition (KNHANES, 2014). Le questionnaire d&rsquo;auto-\u00e9valuation de la sant\u00e9 des patients a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 pour \u00e9valuer la d\u00e9pression. La m\u00e9thode de rappel sur 24 heures a permis d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer l&rsquo;apport alimentaire, class\u00e9 en 18 groupes alimentaires.<\/p>\n<p>Les participants du groupe \u00ab d\u00e9pression \u00bb \u00e9taient principalement :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>des femmes (68,5 %) ;<\/li>\n<li>\u00e2g\u00e9s de 30 \u00e0 49 ans (31,4 %) ;<\/li>\n<li>ch\u00f4meurs (55,8 %).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00c0 noter que la d\u00e9pression \u00e9tait plus fr\u00e9quente chez les participants ayant suivi des \u00e9tudes sup\u00e9rieures (40,4\u00a0%) et dans les foyers aux revenus inf\u00e9rieurs (34,1\u00a0%).<\/p>\n<h2>Comportement alimentaire des participants en fonction de la d\u00e9pression<\/h2>\n<p>Par rapport aux sujets non d\u00e9pressifs, ceux souffrant de d\u00e9pression ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 une consommation significativement plus faible de :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>tous les aliments (groupe d\u00e9pressif : 1453,2 g\/ jour VS groupe non d\u00e9pressif : 1650,7 g\/ jour) ;<\/li>\n<li>l\u00e9gumineuses et leurs produits (groupe d\u00e9pressif : 26,8 g \/ jour VS groupe non d\u00e9pressif : 39,3 g\/ jour) ;<\/li>\n<li>l\u00e9gumes non sal\u00e9s et sal\u00e9s (groupe d\u00e9pressif : 291,2 g\/ jour VS groupe non d\u00e9pressif : 343,6 g\/ jour) ;<\/li>\n<li>fruits frais (groupe d\u00e9pressif : 150,6 g\/ jour VS groupe non d\u00e9pressif : 190,8 g\/ jour).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ces participants sautaient plus souvent le d\u00e9jeuner, pr\u00e9sentaient une pr\u00e9carit\u00e9 alimentaire l\u00e9g\u00e8re et mangeaient au restaurant 1 \u00e0 3\u00a0fois par mois.<\/p>\n<h2>Un apport plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 en fruits et l\u00e9gumes est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 une diminution de la pr\u00e9valence de la d\u00e9pression<\/h2>\n<p>Le taux de d\u00e9pression de tous les sujets se situait entre 4,7 et 8,7 %. Lorsque l&rsquo;apport en fruits et l\u00e9gumes a augment\u00e9, ce taux est pass\u00e9 de 6,4 \u00e0 2,5 % chez les hommes et de 11,4 \u00e0 6,6 % chez les femmes.<\/p>\n<p>La consommation de fruits et l\u00e9gumes \u00e9tait inversement associ\u00e9e \u00e0 la d\u00e9pression sans ajustement. Lorsque les donn\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 ajust\u00e9es en fonction de l&rsquo;\u00e2ge, de l&rsquo;apport \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, de l&rsquo;ob\u00e9sit\u00e9, du tabagisme, de la consommation d&rsquo;alcool, du stress, de la fr\u00e9quence des repas au restaurant, du petit-d\u00e9jeuner et de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire, la d\u00e9pression \u00e9tait \u00e9galement inversement associ\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;apport en fruits et l\u00e9gumes : <strong>les sujets ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 des taux de d\u00e9pression significativement plus bas avec un apport en fruits et l\u00e9gumes plus \u00e9lev\u00e9.<\/strong> Les sujets consommant davantage de fruits et l\u00e9gumes affichaient des taux de d\u00e9pression significativement inf\u00e9rieurs.<\/p>\n<p>Par cons\u00e9quent, les r\u00e9sultats de cette \u00e9tude r\u00e9v\u00e8lent une <strong>association inverse entre la consommation de fruits et l\u00e9gumes et la d\u00e9pression<\/strong>.
