the equivalent of more than 30% of DRVs)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><b>Source of vitamin B9 <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(100 g of raw carrots provide the equivalent of more than 15% of DRVs)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>HEALTH CLAIMS (for a consumption of 100 g of raw carrots)<\/b><\/h3>\n<h5>Vitamin A<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vitamin A has a role in the process of cell specialisation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: Growing under low temperature conditions (4 \u00b0C) leads to higher yield and quality of carrots, while higher temperatures (25 \u00b0C) increase the synthesis of terpenes, giving a bitter taste to carrots (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/31546950\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ahmad, 2019<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carrot size is influenced by the presence of polyacetylenes, specifically falcarinol, falcarindiol and falcarindiol-3-acetate (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/20964297\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kjellenberg, 2010<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).
